California Caregiver Training Academy is based in Dixon, California and has been teaching, training, and educating caregivers since its inception in 2004. We exist to inspire and empower caregivers to discover within themselves that caregiving is a calling and not just a job.
We have trained hundreds of caregivers since our establishment almost two decades ago and take pride in making a difference in the lives of caregivers through training and personal development coaching. Formerly known as California Caregiver Academy, we changed to California Caregiver Training Academy in 2021 after moving from Sacramento County to Solano County.
Training Caregivers Personally, Professionally & Spiritually
There are no prerequisites or requirements to attend and complete a training certification with our Training Academy. If you are brand new to caregiving and looking to start a career in the field of aging, this training is for you. Caregivers who have years of experience but no formal training can also benefit from our in-depth programs.
Our main focus is changing the lives of caregivers by building them up personally, professionally, and spiritually so they can become excellent care providers.

Caregiver Training for the Community & Beyond
Teaching and training caregivers has been part of our vision since 2004. We started by training caregivers and conducting workshops on different age-related care topics, slowly adding to our curriculum over the years.
We began with a one-day training program, then expanded to two days by adding more topics. Eventually, we rewrote our training certification into a full three-day program called Professional Homecare Certification.
Training Built Around Caregiver Requirements
We are in compliance with AB 1217, the Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act, which became law in October 2013, with training requirements effective January 01, 2016.
We had already been teaching and training caregivers since 2004. When the State of California mandated required training after the law was passed in 2013, we prepared ourselves to teach Home Care Aide Training Certifications. By 2016, we had written our curriculum to meet the requirements of the California Home Care Services Consumer Protection Act.
Many caregivers still prefer a live classroom setting rather than online training or video self-study to meet training requirements.
There are three ways to meet the HCA Training:

Our training certification is approved by all Long Term Care
Insurance Companies across the United States. In 2015, the
California Public Employees’ Retirement System, also known as CalPERS, approved our Training Certification.
- Sonoma County Branch
HCA Training in Sonoma County
California Caregiver Training Academy is extending services to Sonoma County and will be based in Santa Rosa. We are planning on offering HCA Training to caregivers who work independently as well as those who work for Home Care Agencies, since this is a mandated training in the State of California.
